Dilated pores
Recently, the removal of dilated pores using lasers has become common and takes so short a time that it is considered a procedure which can be easily done during a lunch break.
But which laser treatment is safest and most appropriate for your case?
At the Derma-Act clinics, we approach each patient individually and withcare for their needs and wishes to choose the optimal treatment plan.
What are dilated pores?
Pores are openings of hair follicles in the skin designed to conduct sweat and toxins outside body. Dilated pores in the area of the nose, cheeks, forehead and chin are most common since the skin in these areas is more oily and ages more quickly. They can be easily obstructed by dirt, dead cells and sebum, which in turn leads to inflammation. Pores in men are generally much more emphasized, but nowadays similar pores can be seen also in women with very oily skin or hormonal problems resulting from menstruation, pregnancy or menopause. In fact, following menopause, the problems associated with dilated pores in women deepen.
Treatment of dilated pores
PicoSure® picosecond laser
One cannot escape one’s genetic determination, but nowadays the factor of “heredity” can be controlled using modern technologies. In case of dilated pores, the PicoSure® laser is one of the most effective and safe methods for management of the problem. The PicoSure® laser is a cutting-edge laser technology that successfully copes with a number of skin diseases, among which are dilated pores.
A procedure with PicoSure® is painless and is considered much more effective in comparison to other laser treatments due to the short recovery period after therapy, which is due to the shortened duration of applied pulse.
The energy that PicoSure® sends to an affected area destroys melanocytes which leads to recovery from pigment disorders, activation of collagen and improvement of skin texture. With the penetration of light laser beam under the skin, controlled minibursts producing small bubbles are created.
In this way, the body shifts to recovery mode in which inside the bubbles is started production of collagenstarts, leading to the contraction of pores.
An increased number of pulses emitted by PicoSure® leads to the following benefits:
A quick and effective process of treatment lasting about 20 minutes
A short recovery period
No side effects
Applicable to all skin types
Painless procedure
Immediately after the end of the therapy, the skin becomes red like when exposed to sunlight, which is resolved within 2-3 hours. The improvement of pores, complexion and skin texture, as well as visible smoothing of fine wrinkles is seen immediately after the therapy with PicoSure®. There are no seasonal restrictions on the administration of PicoSure®. The treatment can also be administered in summer.
Fractora (RF microneedling)
Fractora is one of the safest, most effective treatments for dilated pores. It uses radio frequency energy to transfer thermal energy to skin. From there, the microneedles placed on the device tip transfer this thermal energy to the deeper tissue layers, activating the production of collagen and elastin. Collagen shrinks pores, tightens the skin and makes it more elastic.
Treatment with Fractora has no side effects and can be easily combined with mesotherapy or PRP therapy for better results. Depending on your individual programme, you can expect 1-3 procedures. Visible results appear within a few days, and maximal results – after about 3 weeks.
