PicoSure® Laser System
What is PicoSure and what is it used for?
Cynosure’s innovative American PicoSure product is the first, fastest and most effective picosecond laser for aesthetic purposes. It offers a fast, easy and non-operative laser treatment for skin rejuvenation. It is used to remove wrinkles, acne scars, freckles, stretch marks, sun spots, melasma and more.
PicoSure is the most preferred tattoo removal method among professionals.
Is it true that PicoSure helps remove tattoos?
Is tattoo removal painful?
The intervention passes with mild discomfort, same as you had when it was put on. A cream may be used for local anesthesia. We recommend a few weeks between each procedure, depending on the individual case.
What should we observe after a tattoo removal procedure?
After laser treatment to remove tattoos and unwanted pigment, the skin is more vulnerable to sunlight. Therefore, it is best not to expose yourself to the sun after the procedure and use a sunscreen with SPF50.
Which areas does the PicoSure® laser work on?
Almost all parts of the body can be treated with PicoSure: face, chest, décolletage, arms, legs, abdomen, etc.
How does it work?
PicoSure® is a picosecond laser. It uses ultra-short pulses that spray the ink particle with such high pressure that it breaks into tiny dust particles. And these are easily absorbed and eliminated from the body.
Why PicoSure® and not Q-switch?
Q-switch nanosecond lasers are based on photothermal action, which consists of heating the pigment in the surrounding tissue. Whereas the PicoSure® picosecond laser only works on the problem area with ultra-short pulses. This results in faster and more effective tattoo removal.
Advantages of PicoSure® over other similar procedures
PicoSure® focuses only on the problem area, regardless of its size. In comparison, photothermal lasers remove unwanted formations with heat, which damages the skin and is not as effective. They have a longer skin recovery period, and because of the heat used, the area remains red and irritated. Only about one hour of redness is observed after PicoSure®.
