What are JUVÉDERM® dermal fillers?

JUVÉDERM® is available in several different formulations, each designed for specific areas of the face. For example, JUVÉDERM® ULTRA is most often used for lip augmentation and correction of perioral lines, while JUVÉDERM® VOLUMA® is used for volumizing and highlighting cheekbones.

One of the advantages of JUVÉDERM® is that it is a non-surgical option for restoring volume and facelifting. Its a injectable procedure and usually takes 30 minutes or less. Results are immediate and can last up to 18 months depending on the product formula and the area treated.

JUVÉDERM® is a safe and effective option for patients who want to restore volume and smooth wrinkles. However, as with any medical procedure, it is important to carefully evaluate each patient and ensure that they are a good candidate for the procedure.

JUVÉDERM® offer a collection of several unique products that temporarily add volume for different needs in seven specific areas of the face.

What is VYCROSS® technology?

VYCROSS® technology provides a unique patented formula combining low molecular weight Hyaluronic Acid (HA) and high molecular weight Hyaluronic Acid (HA) for more effective cross-linking. This results in minimal swelling, improved smoothness and longer duration.

The formula has been developed to achieve natural results and preserve the natural expression of the face.

The approach is individual for each patient and works according to the MD CODES system introduced by the Brazilian plastic surgeon Mauricio De Mayo.

JUVÉDERM® VOLBELLA®
The softest filler used to treat fine lines, hydrate lips, improve the bar code area or smoke lines, and the only filler suitable for sagging in the tear duct area or sagging in the under eye area.

JUVÉDERM® VOLIFT®
A product used to treat fine lines, hydrate and volumize lips as well as, restore mild to moderate volume loss in the face.

JUVÉDERM® VOLUMA®
It is injected deep into the area of the cheekbones, chin and lower jaw line.
The effect lasts up to 18 months and the product is studied across patients over 22 years of age.

JUVÉDERM® VOLUX®
The first and only FDA-approved hyaluronic filler to improve lost definition in the jaw and chin area. The result may last up to 18 months.

JUVÉDERM® VOLITE®

A product that is used to improve the quality, hydration and elasticity of the skin, with studies supporting these benefits. The results after a single treatment last between 6 to 9 months, and the treatment can be repeated to prolong the effect. The protocol proposed by Allergan Aesthetics to achieve this duration is 2 ml.

JUVÉDERM® Ultra are hyaluronic acid products with an improved cohesive structure and a wide range of different densities to achieve a natural and long-lasting result tailored to the individual needs of the patient. JUVÉDERM® Ultra’s formula contains lidocaine solution for painless, smooth and controlled injection. Specially designed for lip correction. A unique product for natural and delicate filling and elegant contouring, as well as for the treatment of vertical lip lines and hollows at the corner of the lips.
Suitable for maintaining the achieved result, filling and correction.

JUVÉDERM® Ultra 2 /0,55ml/
Corrects superficial and fine lines, especially those around the corners of the eyes, mouth or near the surface of the skin.

JUVÉDERM® Ultra 3 /1ml/
A universal product for smoothing medium and deep wrinkles, such as those between the nose and the corner of the mouth and around the lips, especially suitable for volumizing and shaping the lips.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the procedure painful?

Each product contains lidocaine, which is a local anesthetic. Lidocaine numbs the area and makes your procedure painless. You may feel slight discomfort during and after the procedure. You can discuss this with your doctor prior the treatment.

How does the procedure work?

Your aesthetic dermatology specialist will mark the area to be treated with a pencil. A fine needle is used to inject the filler into the target area. This is followed by a light massage in the injected area in order to evenly distribute the product. This will also reduce the likelihood of swelling. The entire procedure takes about 15 minutes to an hour. You can use ice packs to reduce swelling post treatment. You will see results immediately or after the swelling subsides and the product integratates which sometimes takes up to 14 days.

How much JUVÉDERM® do you need for optimal results?

Depending on age, anatomy, weight, loss of volume and depth of wrinkles, the required amount is calculated during the consultation with your specialist. Discuss with your doctor what your expectations are and how much product you will need to meet them.

How much the treatment costs?

The average price of a 1 ml syringe is around €300. The exact price depends on the quantity required. You can find all prices and offers in our price list.

How long does the effect last?

The results after filler placement are beautiful, but temporary. They can last about one to two years depending on the formula. Retreatment is usually needed to maintain your results, which is usually around 12 months after the initial procedure. After a complete lifting (liquid lift), the recommendation is to have a new consultation with our specialist 9-12 months after the initial procedure, in order to evaluate the results and consider possible future manipulations.

Are there side effects from JUVÉDERM® fillers?

In general, JUVÉDERM® fillers are considered safe and minimal side effects are observed. You may experience the following side effects post treatment: redness itching bruising at injection sites swelling and sensitivity dryness You should avoid alcoholic beverages, exposure to heat and vigorous exercise for the first 24 hours after the procedure. Exposure to any of these would cause temporary swelling, redness or itching at the injection site. Apply ice to avoid swelling. Ask your doctor how long you should wait before applying makeup or any product to avoid a reaction. Although very rare, sometimes more serious complications can occur due to injection of hyaluronic filler into a blood vessel, which are as follows: visual abnormalities blindness permanent scars delayed allergic reactions

Contraindications

Don't use JUVÉDERM® if: you are allergic to any of its ingredients you have a history of allergic reactions to lidocaine are pregnant or breastfeeding Patients with active skin infections, allergies to hyaluronic acid, or a history of keloid scars should not undergo injection procedures. It is also important to inform patients about the potential side effects of the treatment, which may include redness, swelling, and bruising at the injection site.

Aftercare

In terms of aftercare, the patient should avoid any strenuous activities that may cause increased blood flow to the treated area, as well as avoid exposure to extreme heat or cold. They should also avoid sun exposure, swimming and saunas for at least 24 hours after treatment.
